A Tale of Two Chopsticks

Today we watched Kung Fu Panda as a family. While watching the 'extras' about chopsticks, we decided to practice using chopsticks. Trevor and I practiced while Talvyn was out of the room. We had finally learned and were picking up food when in walks Talvyn. He immediately wanted to learn. To disway his eager interest, I almost said, "it is too hard," but my wonderful husband interrupted saying sure and begins teaching him. He layed the straws (our closest things to chopsticks) in Talvyn's hands and backed away saying now you pinch with them. Talvyn immediately reaches towards the food with his 'chopsticks,' picks up a piece of chicken, and starts eating.

This reminds me that children learn so fast if we are willing to teach them, and that things aren't always going to be as hard as they look.

That is awesome. Start teaching that kid other things since he seems to pick it up so FAST. I love that movie.

What a talented little boy! We haven't seen Kung Fu Panda yet but everytime Ethan sees the previews he asks to watch it, we're going to have to check that off our list soon!

It is amazing what kids can pick up. Maybe cause they don't know they can't do it.
