The Author

Talvyn has been writing little statements everywhere he can.  "I Love You Mom & Dad.  I see You.  I love TRON.  I see...  I like..." He loves being able to write real words and write us all notes.  He even went so far as to tell us all that he loved us using M&Ms.  I know that the heart and the U are not real words, but he really can write those words.  I think that he was just using his M&Ms wisely.

Grandpa Fuhrmann's Birthday

We held a little celebration for my dad for his 63rd birthday this year at our house.  We had a hot dog roast and salads.  It was fun to all get together.  Dina even made him a cheesecake.  It was yummy!  We also celebrated my mom's 60th birthday a few weeks later but that was done at her house and we didn't take any pictures.  We had a nacho bar and had fun just hanging out.  We love having family close and being able to be together.
Happy Birthdays Grandpa and Grandma Fuhrmann!

Our Clone Trooper

Talvyn was a Clone Trooper for his class Halloween party this year.  I told him to just grab something from his dress up drawer for Halloween.  He couldn't wear the helmet or take the gun to school, so we had to pose after he got home.  He really was partied out.  They had a lot of treats and came home with goody bags.

Halloween 2010

Yes, we were a little unconventional this year but that is just our style.  We asked our kids if they wanted to go trick-or-treating and they said no.  So we made and ate caramel apples.  We first dipped them in caramel, then in chocolate, and then either rolled in nuts, coconut, crushed oreos, or mixed them.  We loved it!

A few of our favorite things...

~Daxtyn running around the house telling everyone to "ka..mere"  (come here).

~Daxtyn jumping around the house like a little bunny while getting serious air.  (This kid is going to have a serious vertical.)

~Talvyn getting his first report card and doing so well in school.

~Talvyn drawing a picture at school saying that our family likes to sit in front of the TV and watch Bollywood movies together.  (His teacher kept the picture.)

~Talvyn and Daxtyn loving/hating each other.  One minutes they are pushing and the very next minute they are hugging it out.  (I will never get the ways that boys play).

~Talvyn and Daxtyn are each others fiercest protectors.  If one of them gets into trouble (even if it was for being mean to the other one) the other one will immediately turn to their parents and tell them to stop being mean to the other brother.

~ Volleyball being over for a while.  I am mentally exhausted!

Family Pictures

We just got our family pictures taken. My friend, Diane takes such amazing pictures. I can't wait to see all of them, but for now a few of them are up on her blog and I am already in love with them.

Go here to see them.

Kindergarten and other short stories...

Talvyn has started kindergarten. He has been at it for a month now. His teacher is Mrs. Buck. He once stating that he hated her name, "Buck, who has a name like Buck." He also say that she was unorganzied because she couldn't find their papers. He really does like her and is learning a lot. He is just being his typical ho hum self. He also told me that the worst part of school is PE (I teach PE so this was a blow). I asked why and he said, "because we watch stupid videos." Personally, I would hate this kind of PE too.

On another note. I was giving Trevor a hard time last night about smiling (because I love it when he flashes his pearly whites--he looks hot). Talvyn, overhearing our teasing, jumps in front of me and flashes me a smile. I said thanks and he answered, "I know, I have an amazing smile."

Daxtyn has been ever increasing in his verbal skills. He now answers everything with an obedient "OK" or "mmm, hmm." He also loves to answer questions directed at Talvyn such as, How was your day Talvyn?" Daxtyn will answer, "good." Did you learn anything (Talvyn)? Daxtyn will answer again, "mmm, hmm."

Also, Trevor and I have watched quite a few Bollywood movies lately. There is a lot of signing and dancing in every single movie and exposed male chest. Talvyn came out the other morning with his shirt unbuttoned waving his arms side to side dancing. "You know what I am," he says, " I am a guy from one of those movies."

That time again

It is that time of the year again where volleyball begins and typical life as we know it ends. Trevor is back at work and I start this next week. Talvyn will start kindergarten and is so excited (but a "little shy" too). The kids are getting used to spending more time with Grandma and earlier times to bed. Summer is over!

A Tale of Two Loves

Notice the initials carved into the truck? These were carved many years ago by two teenage best friends little knowing that they were carving prophecy. (DW) Darrec Williams married (TW) Tiniel Williams and (TW) Trevor Williams married (DW) Dana Williams. Coincidence...I don't think so.

Playing at Great Grandma Williams' House

Playing on the tree swing. Playing on the stairs.

Hide and go seek and playing upstairs.

Playing on her piano.
There are always things to do at Grandma's house.

(I didn't even post any of the farm picture because that will have to be saved for a later post.)

A Birthday Card

Talvyn got a cool birthday card from his primary teacher, Sister Carter. He really loves her. Daxtyn wanted to be in the picture holding something also.

Superbaby!

Talvyn's 6th Birthday

Talvyn's 6th birthday consisted of family, nachos, cake and presents. As we sang "Happy Birthday" and Talvyn got ready to blow out his candles, he was beat by his little brother who leaned forward and blew them all out for him. Talvyn just laughed and we had to relight the candles so that Talvyn could actually blow them out.

Going Private

I know the dreaded word, but it just seems like the smart choice. Leave me your e-mail address or give me a call and give me your e-mail and I will let you in. This will happen on the 5th of August.

Playing at Grandma Williams house

Blowing bubbles with Grandma.

Looking at Grandma's garden.

Looking at the back fields.

Playing basketball.

Playing in the dirt.

New Calling

I guess it was time for a change. Sigh... I really enjoyed primary. I am now the Laurel Advisor in Young Women's. They are a great bunch off girls.

Jaggles Canyon

Jaggles Canyon is located behind Trevor's parents' farm. It is the place where we took our first four-wheeler ride. We decided that we would take our children up there.

Talvyn cried because he thought that the four-wheeler ride was scary (too bumpy). He had to ride behind mom on the four-wheeler and I think that he wanted to ride on the front of dad's.

This is the reason that Talvyn had to ride with me. Daxtyn fell asleep and I was trying to drive up the hill one armed and I do not have the upper body strength to handle the four-wheeler on rocky terrain like that. He slept through the entire ride up the canyon and back down the canyon.

Riding out of the canyon looked like the first picture and the picture of me and the kids on the four-wheelers was taken by Trevor after he did a little rock climbing.

The view of Jaggles and the view towards Mackay.

The Future is so Bright...

I gotta wear shades!

Iron Bog Lake

For the Stewart Family Reunion during the 4th of July weekend we went on a hike to Iron Bog Lake. We had a picnic in the parking lot on a giant rock and then began our hike.

Talvyn and Areyan taking a break before the hike even began.

Shortly into the hike we saw the coolest fallen tree. We thought that it looked like a dragon.

We had to cross a couple of water falls while on the hike.

We are almost there.

Iron Bog Lake

Eating treats from Great Aunt Melonie.

Playing in the snow.

We climbed the hike with only a few cries from Talvyn of being bored, tired, sore, etc. On the way up to the lake, he wanted to go home because he had to use the bathroom. We finally convinced him to use the great outdoors. When we finally got to the lake, we played for a while and then decided to hike around it. We had to cross over a log at one point and were covered by some strange sort of bug at another point. Talvyn fell into a hole and soaked his leg clear up to his thigh. Talvyn can't handle wet clothing! He quickly decided that he had enough of the outdoors and stormed off, crying, down the mountain ready to go back to the cars (over a mile away) all by himself because he couldn't stand being wet. We chased him down and headed back to the vehicles with him. Daxtyn fell asleep on the hike down and at a couple of points both boys had to be carried. It was a tough hike with small children, but it was beautiful.
