Talvyn started his first day of 1st grade last Thursday. First time at school all day. First time eating hot lunch (corn dogs- his favorite). First day with Mrs. Browne. First day with stupid playground rules (he can't play with 4th graders on the playground, in other words, Drew).
Trevor had his first day on the 12th of August. It is going well.
I started on the 22nd. I have no lockers, no locker room, no computer, no air conditioning in 102 degree weather and no office until October. It is shaping up to be an exciting year. I also get benefits and 5/7 of a full time contracts. I love change and all of the growth and challenge that comes with it.

For some reason or another (pregnancy, work, etc.) I have never been able to go to Girls Camp. Well this summer there really wasn't an excuse. Trevor and I were asked to speak to the girls about Finding your own Happily Ever After. This is our version of roughing it (port-potty, pedicures in the stream, ball gowns, tiaras and high heels). It was fun. Maybe we should actually take our poor children some time since they have never slept in the woods. Who can blame them it was my second time ever! The first being right after high school with my parents.

...Grandpa comes! If he saws then we saw. If he hammers then we hammer. Grandpa helps us do lots of projects. This summer we painted the shed and put soffit board on our porch and then painted that.
We also painted the bathroom, put in a new cool toilet (if a toilet can be cool then this one is), redecorated the bathroom, put a loft bed in the boys room for Talvyn and reorganized, rearranged the living room, rehung pictures throughout the house, rearranged the master bedroom and closet and got a new to us table and painted the top black. It was a busy summer, but well worth it! Thanks Grandma for sharing Grandpa with us and thanks to Grandpa for all of the help. We love you! Thanks Wrangler for the toilet removal and the cool addition!

Forever...well, it seemed like forever. We froze a lot of strawberries this summer. From our own patch and a ton from my parents patch. I actually got a little sick of strawberries for a few weeks. I also got myself some new spectacles. (This was in June)
